19 A false witness who breathes out lies [even half-truths], And one who spreads discord (rumors) among brothers.
Definitions of discord:
~strife resulting from a lack of agreement
~disagreement among those expected to cooperate
~lack of agreement or harmony
~a harsh mixture of sounds
~be different from one another
The ROOT of Many Sow Discord is:
~Jealousy, Envy, Hatred
~Comparison/low self-esteem
~Evil Roots
They will Use:
~Sympathy, Crying, Soft Speech,
~make themselves appear to need your help in shielding them against another
~Flat out Lying
~Gifts
~Act as if they are being attacked to get you on their side
Think and Take Note of:
1. Take note of crooked speech (Prov 6:12b)
Do they twist words to win sympathy? Do they label their complaints as “concerns,” their anger as “frustration,” or their bitterness as “misunderstanding”? Have they failed to forgive? Do they always have questions but never any answers?
2. Consider body language (Prov 6:13a)
When around people who offend them, do they roll their eyes, grimace, or shake their heads? Do they make eye contact with you when the other person turns away? Does their posture communicate disrespect or defensiveness?
3. Refuse to join the gang (Prov 6:13b).
The Sower of Discord “points with his finger” in an effort to persuade others to join his team. They are sneaky communicators, and Their destructive power lies in Their ability to recruit.
Whenever someone has a complaint against another person, your best response is, “did you talk to that person about it?” Though many will lie and say yes!!
A Few Examples
One of your friends . . . a Christian, perhaps even a member of your fellowship . . . says the following to you:
”You know, Tod doesn’t like you . . . I’m telling you this because I’m your friend.”
Or they may say something like:
“I probably shouldn’t say this, but I think you should know that Tammy said such and such about you.”
Immediately, your defenses go up. You feel insulted. Hurt.
You suddenly look at Tod and Tammy, whom you’ve regarded as trusted friends, in a completely different light.
Your friend was doing you a favor by telling you these things . . . right?
Think again.
Even if these things were True, the fact that the Person told you.. their Heart isn't Right. If you have the Spirit of God.. You should Recognize this Fruit and it is Bad and Evil Fruit!!
Truth is, Many pull these "So-called" I just tell you... Right out of Their own evil Heart!!
