"The Chosen Fast"
Then shall your Light Break Forth Like the Morning
Matthew 6:16-18(KJV)
16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
17 But thou, when thou fastest, anoint thine head, and wash thy face;
18 That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.
Fasting Principles
1)Intercessors must fast and pray for cities, then nation, and other nations(Neh. 1:1-4)
2)David Confessed Great Victory over His Enemies and their works would not prosper against him, yet He fasted and prayed for them when they fell sick. He held no Aught against them, and how his enemy responded to this determined their destinies.
Three Fasts only one Beneficial and Chosen
- Demonic Fast – A fast intentionally called for evil Purposes
- Fleshly Fast - A fast that is called in ignorance or for fleshy reasons because of worldly influence.
- Chosen Fast- The fast that GOD has chosen (Isaiah 58:6-7)
THE CHOSEN FAST
Isaiah 58:6-11(KJV)
6 Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7 Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
1)I will loose the bonds of wickedness
2)Undo heavy burdens
3)Let the oppressed go free
4)Break every yoke
5)Cause us to divide our bread with the hungry and bring the homeless poor into our house
6)Cause us to cover the naked when we see them
7)Assure that we do not hide ourselves from our Own Flesh
THE FRUITS OF THAT FAST
That will be Seen
Isaiah 58:8-11(kjv)
8 Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the Lord shall be thy reward.
9 Then shalt thou call, and the Lord shall answer; thou shalt cry, and he shall say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking vanity;
10 And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul; then shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day:
11 And the Lord shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
1)Our Light will break forth as the Morning
2)Our health shall spring forth speedily
3)Righteousness shall go before us
4)The Glory of the Lord shall be our rear guard
5)We will call upon the Lord, and He will answer
6)We will cry , and the Lord will say, “Here I am!”
7)If we remove the yoke of oppression from our midst, stop pointing in scorn and speaking in vanity, draw our soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul, our Light shall rise in obscurity and our darkness shall be as noonday
8)The Lord will guide us continually
9)The Lord shall satisfy our soul in drought
10)The Lord shall make our bones fat
11)We shall be like watered gardens and a spring of water whose water never fails
12)Those who are of us shall build the old waste places(v12)
13)We shall be called the repairers of the breach and restorers of the paths to dwell in (v12)
14)If we call the Sabbath a delight and honor God by not doing things our own way, finding our own pleasure or speaking our own words, then we will delight ourselves in the Lord, and He will cause us to ride upon the high places of the earth(v 12-14)
15)We will be fed with the Heritage of Jacob… for the mouth of the Lord has Spoken it (v14)
